Aliff Rayyan : Reverse Cycling kah?

hari ni lambat.. lambat yakmat. sampai kereta pun dah 7lebih.
(nota:jadual asal keluar rumah kol 6.30pg).
sampai kereta, letak Aliff kat carseat kat seat penumpang depan, bukak pintu belakang nak letak beg.. hadeii rupernye botol EBM yg aku bawak dari umah mak tertinggal kat tepi seat tu.. patutler mase simpan ebm dlm fridge aku tak jumpe botol tu..
habeh membazir 5oz huhuhu..

Semalam aku bawak 2 biji botol yang 5oz tu berisi EBM untuk bekal Aliff kat umah mak sepanjang waktu bekerja. bile balik rupanya Aliff minum 1 botol je means 5oz aje la..mak cakap Aliff banyak tido and main jer..minum kureng sket..

ermmm.. rasenye memang aku perasan lately ni Aliff menambah bilangan waktu night feedingnya. Sebelum sebelum ni Aliff biasenye minum sekali mase aku gi kat umah mak (nak amek die) and sekali lagi sebelum tido. Memang jarang sangat die terjaga tengah malam nak menyusu.. but lately memang rasenye 2-3kali gak mase tengah2 malam dia merengek nak menyusu but ape nak kesah? Aliff kan breastfeeding..senang ajer..tak susah2 nak bangun bancuh susu bagai.. ummy sentiasa berada bersama.

aku pikir kemungkinan Aliff ni mengalami reverse cycling

so apakah reverse cycling tu?

1* Newborns may reverse cycle in the early days or weeks simply because they have their days and nights mixed up.
2* Distractible (and/or very active) babies or toddlers may nurse more at night to make up for missed or shortened nursing sessions during the day.
3* If mom is very distracted or busy during the day, baby may nurse more at night to make up for missed or shortened nursing sessions, or simply to get more uninterrupted time with mom.
4* If mom is away from baby during the day, baby may take just enough milk (by bottle or cup) to "take the edge off" his hunger, then wait for mom to return to get the bulk of his calories. Baby will typically nurse more often and/or longer than usual once mom returns. Some mothers encourage reverse cycling so they won't need to pump as much milk. Reverse cycling is common for breastfed babies who are away from mom part of the day, especially those just starting out with the bottle.

Aliff sekarang memang senang distracted walaupun masa BF. kalau dok kat depan tv, sure karang kepala nye tertoleh-toleh ke tv..sama gak kalau ade orang sekeliling bercakap ker..sebok nak nengok org hishh..
Mungkin lebih kepada nombor 4 sebab kalau aku sampai je umah mak, terus je merengek nak BF. sampai umah sendiri pun pastu nak BF sampai tertido..

apa yang aku perlu buat bile bb reverse cycle, (dalam kes Aliff kire isu no.4)?

If baby is reverse cycling and taking very little milk when mom is away at work:

1* Be patient. Try not to stress about it. Consider it a compliment - baby prefers you!
2* Use small amounts of expressed milk per bottle so there is less waste.
3* If you're worrying that baby can't go that long without more milk, keep in mind that some babies sleep through the night for 8 hours or so without mom needing to worry that baby is not eating during that time period. Keep an eye on wet diapers and weight gain to assure yourself that baby is getting enough milk.
4* Ensure that baby has ample chance to nurse when you're together.
5* If you prefer to pump less milk while you're away from baby, you may choose to encourage baby to reverse cycle.

kalau mase aku jahil tentang BF ni tentu aku fikir die tak cukup susu, perlu topup ngan FM atau solid foods.. tapi kali ni aku pikir lain dah..

'takpe Aliff..ummy tak kesah pun Aliff nak BF berapa kali waktu malam.. ummy tau Aliff prefer ummy lebih sebab Aliff sayang ummmy kan.. i love u too =D'

"i'm happy ummy.."

Takziah..

Assalamualaikum wbt...

Semoga arwah ditempatkan dikalangan orang2 solihin..

Camne korang store EBM korang???

Camne korang store EBM korang???

botol ni pun kalau dalamnye frozen EBM, kalau jatuh bedebuk atas lantai, pecah jugakkk.. aku dah pecahkan satu botol..ruuugiii nyerrr..
masalah guna botol ni adalah sama iaitu perlu RAJIN dimana perlu dibasuh dan steril lahh..as usual, aku MAAALAASSS haihhh (ape punye mak ler nii)..

3. menggunakan milk storage bags a.k.a liners

EBM

tulis tarikh & masa mengepam di liner

sarungkan liner pada botol

terbalikkan botol dan liner (sambil pegang liner-jgn terlepas daahhh)

siap!! ikat ngan getah je

tambahan info..

What type of container is best for storing your milk?

There are a variety of containers for breastmilk storage. For most healthy, term babies, who get the bulk of their nutrition from direct breastfeeding, the storage container is not as important as it might be for a hospitalized preemie or ill baby who is getting only expressed milk. Glass is usually considered the best choice for freezing milk because the components of milk are better preserved in glass. Second choice would be hard, clear plastic containers. Most moms find plastic is more convenient and some day-care centers will not accept glass because of the risk of breakage. All containers should have a tight sealing, one piece lid.

Storing breastmilk in milk storage bags could present some problems. The milk could cling to the sides of the storage bag, reducing the amount that gets to baby. Milk bags are also more prone to contamination through leakage. Some pump companies make milk storage bags that are very convenient to use and are of a thicker gauge plastic than those originally tested, however, these can be expensive. If you do use bags, it's a good idea to double bag the thinner ones and store any bag in a hard plastic storage container with a lid, in the freezer. This will help reduce the risk of small tears in the bag. Ask your day-care provider that when they warm bagged milk, not to allow the water over the top of the bag, since this will likely cause water to enter the bag as it is opened. If the water used for warming becomes cloudy, that indicates a leak and the bag of milk must be discarded (Mohrbacher, & Stock 1997). Colored baby bottles should not be used as some of the dyes may enter the milk.

Dengki dengan adik : Camne nak handle?

Semalam.. waktu maghrib..

Husna ngan Aliff dok kat ruang tamu.. Husna dengan channel Astro Ceria nye..(nak tengok kartun) and Aliff dok terlentang je kat atas tilam (kat ruang tamu jugak..)

Aku masuk bilik, call en.suami yang kat ofis, tanye2 kol bape die nak balik plus pesan beli makanan kat pasar malam. Habis call nak ambil wudhuk untuk solat maghrib.. sebelum masuk toilet, dengan sengaja, aku jenguk Husna & Aliff.. tengok2 Husna tekup muka Aliff ngan bantal besar.. terkejut besar aku..berlari nak angkat bantal tu.. syukur Aliff tak ape2..

aku : Husna sayang adik takkk??(*marah)
Husna : sayang..
aku : habih nape letak bantal kat muka adik??
Husna : *nangis*
aku : Husna tak sayang adik, ummy bagi adik kat orang lain nak??
Husna : tak nak..*nangis*

ya, aku tau Husna sayang kat Aliff cuma cara sayang nya tu terlalu bahaya..
kesian jugak kat Husna kene bantai ngan aku.. mungkin die nak bergurau je dengan Aliff..
Husna sedih..aku pun sama..

lama aku terduduk..terdiam..berfikir..apakah kasih sayang kami (ummy & ayah) pada Husna nampak berkurangan..adakah kami terlalu melebihkan Aliff??..

kalau aku terlepas pandang..hmmm tak tahu apa akan jadi......

'Husna, apalah yang ummy patut buat...'

setelah aku google, aku jumpa artikel kat bawah ni.. betul jugak apa yang tertulis kat artikel tu.. ya, banyak lagi ilmu keibubapaan yang perlu aku cari..

How Do I Deal with a Jealous Sibling? *source

From

Think about it: Before the baby entered your family, your toddler was told he’d have a wonderful little brother to play with, and how much fun it would be. Then the little brother is born and your toddler is thinking, “Are you kidding me? This squirming, red-faced baby that takes up all your time and attention is supposed to be FUN?” He then “plays” with the baby in the only ways he knows how. He plays catch. You yell at him for throwing toys at the baby. He plays hide-and-seek. You yell at him to get the blanket off the baby. He gives the kid a hug, and you admonish him to be more careful. Is it any wonder that your toddler is confused?

Teach: Your first goal is to protect the baby. Your second, to teach your older child how to interact with his new sibling in proper ways. You can teach your toddler how to play with the baby in the same way you teach him anything else. Talk to him, demonstrate, guide and encourage. Until you feel confident that you’ve achieved your second goal, however, do not leave the children alone together. Yes, I know. It isn’t convenient. But it is necessary, maybe even critical.

Hover: Whenever the children are together, “hover” close by. If you see your child about to get rough, pick up the baby and distract the older sibling with a song, a toy, an activity or a snack. This action protects the baby while helping you avoid a constant string of “Nos,” which may actually encourage the aggressive behavior.

Teach soft touches: Teach the older sibling how to give the baby a back rub. Tell how this kind of touching calms the baby, and praise the older child for a job well done. This lesson teaches the child how to be physical with the baby in a positive way.

Act quickly: Every time you see your child hit, or act roughly with the baby, act quickly. You might firmly announce, “No hitting, time out.” Place the child in a time-out chair with the statement, “You can get up when you can use your hands in the right way.” Allow him to get right up if he wants – as long as he is careful and gentle with the baby. This isn’t punishment, after all. It’s just helping him learn that rough actions aren’t going to be permitted.

Demonstrate: Children learn what they live. Your older child will be watching as you handle the baby and learning from your actions. You are your child’s most important teacher. You are demonstrating in everything you do, and your child will learn most from watching you.

Praise: Whenever you see the older child touching the baby gently, make a positive comment. Make a big fuss about the important “older brother.” Hug and kiss your older child and tell him how proud you are.

Watch your words: Don’t blame everything on the baby. “We can’t go to the park; the baby’s sleeping.” “Be quiet, you’ll wake the baby.” “After I change the baby I’ll help you.” At this point, your child would just as soon sell the baby! Instead, use alternate reasons. “My hands are busy now.” “We’ll go after lunch.” “I’ll help you in three minutes.”

Be supportive: Acknowledge your child’s unspoken feelings, such as “Things sure have changed with the new baby here. It’s going to take us all some time to get used to this.” Keep your comments mild and general. Don’t say, “I bet you hate the new baby.” Instead, say, “It must be hard to have Mommy spending so much time with the baby.” or “I bet you wish we could go to the park now, and not have to wait for the baby to wake up.” When your child knows that you understand her feelings, she’ll have less need to act up to get your attention.

Give extra love: Increase your little demonstrations of love for your child. Say extra I love yous, increase your daily dose of hugs, and find time to read a book or play a game. Temporary regressions or behavior problems are normal, and can be eased with an extra dose of time and attention.

Get ‘em involved: Teach the older sibling how to be helpful with the baby or how to entertain the baby. Let the older sibling open the baby gifts and use the camera to take pictures of the baby. Teach him how to put the baby’s socks on. Let him sprinkle the powder. Praise and encourage whenever possible.

Making each feel special: Avoid comparing siblings, even about seemingly innocent topics such as birth weight, when each first crawled or walked, or who had more hair! Children can interpret these comments as criticisms.

Take a deep breath and be calm. This is a time of adjustment for everyone in the family. Reduce outside activities, relax your housekeeping standards, and focus on your current priority, adjusting to your new family size.

Kurap/Ruam Susu

4nov09 : dah mula nampak merah kat pipi kiri

22nov09 : makin besar

18dec09 : makin ketara kurap

24dec09 : membesar lagi, masih kat pipi kiri

1jan10 : dah mula jangkit pipi kanan

5jan10 : kurap susu pd pipi kiri & kanan makin besar

Aku pun taktau nak wat camner ni.. mase memula bawak Aliff gi klinik pakar kanak2 kat kota damansara, Dr. Chua pun ade mention ruam kat pipi tu disebabkan alergi tapi takde lah mention alergi pada apa.

Aku dah belek2 buku nota aku..ape kebendenye yg aku makan menyebabkan ruam/kurap susu pada pipi Aliff.. aku pun dah belek2 gambar2 Aliff dari lahir just nak tau since bile kurap tu timbul..selepas dikaji2..rupenye pas aku balik dari umah mak mase pantang lagi.. memula kecit jer kat pipi kiri tp skarang dah jangkit pipi kanan..Makin lame makin besar dan merah..kesian tol kat Aliff.. en.suami kate, makan balik lah makanan mase pantang tuu..aiseymennn.. camno tuu???

Banyak info kate baby kebanyakannya alah pada protin susu lembu..tapi aku memang suke minum bersusu..tak kire la susu manis ke, fresh milk ke..mase pantang pun aku ade minum anmum for breastfeeding, susu pekat..takde lak kuar kurap susu tu..kalau betullah Aliff ade alahan pada sesuatu makanan, aku kenela try test satu2 jenis makanan lah nie..

Ni aku quote komen Mama Kamariah (moderator SI) :

Kalau bukan alahan, mungkin jugak kurap susu tu disebabkan susu yg meleleh kat pipi & tak dilap.. ermm tu biasenye time malam lah.. nyusu sambil tido/baring hehe.. mungkin jugak sebab mase pantang kat umah mak dulu tak pandai lagi nyusu sambil baring. so takde la susu meleleh kat pipi Aliff. bile balik umah sendiri baru praktis sampai master hehe..

Sejak Aliff dapat kurap susu ni, dah try letak gincu (aku pun tak tau ape kaitan lipstik ngan kurap susu..mak aku yg soh bubuh), krim (dari klinik tpt Aliff lahir), isi kelapa (ni pun aku tak berapa nak faham =D, famili mertua yg sarankan). Semua ni tak berapa nak jalan lah.. Ade gak forumers dlm SI yang sarankan krim Ezerra, Zaricort & Elomet.. aku pun tak berapa pasti lagi.. Eczema ker? takde lak famili history..hishh mintak simpang..

Tengoklah dulu beberapa hari ni..kalau tak baik2 gak, aku nak bawak gi paed balik lah..

'Cepat2 lah baik Aliff Rayyan.. risau pulak ummy..'

Dilema Makanan Pejal

so aku dapatkan petikan ni untuk info diri sendiri jugak..

Is Your Baby Ready for Solid Foods? Learn About Baby's Signs of Readiness for Solid Foods

How Will You Know When Your Baby is Ready to Eat Solid Foods?

How do you know if your baby is ready for solid foods? Your baby may be 3 months old or 4 months old when you start to feel she may need "something more" than formula or breast milk. Maybe she is beginning to awaken more often at night or eat more often than "usual" and you wonder if introducing solid foods may be what she needs.

A Growth Spurt May be Confused with a Readiness for Solid Foods

Please keep in mind that a growth spurt will occur between 3-4 months of age. Your baby may begin to wake more frequently at night for a feeding and/or may begin to eat non-stop (cluster feed) as she once did as a newborn. This growth spurt often accounts for the increased hunger in your baby and it should not be taken as a sign that your baby needs solid foods added to her diet.

Try offering your baby more frequent nursing sessions and/or bottle feedings instead of solids; you will find that within a week or two, your baby is oftentimes over the growth spurt and back to feeding "as usual".

Here are a few "signs" that may indicate your baby is ready for Solid Foods:

Loss of tongue-thrust reflex - This allows baby to drink and swallow liquids with ease; with the tongue-thrust reflex still present, baby may simply drink in liquid purees or push the food back out. According to Dr. Jim Sears, in the first four months the tongue thrust reflex protects the infant against choking. When any unusual substance is placed on the tongue, it automatically protrudes outward rather than back. Between four and six months this reflex gradually diminishes, giving the glob of cereal a fighting chance of making it from the tongue to the tummy

ready for solids Ability to let you know she is full from a "meal" with signs such as turning away from the bottle or breast. This is important so that baby is able to self-regulate the amount of food being eaten. This helps stop baby from accidentally overeating as parents may continue to feed baby thinking that she is still hungry.

ready for solids Ability to sit up and hold head up unassisted

ready for solids Interest in your food (we tend to disagree with this one as when a baby reaches the age of 4-6 months, he is interested in putting everything in his mouth.)

ready for solids Doubling of birth weight

ready for solids Frequently waking in the middle of the night when a solid sleeping pattern had been established. This may not be the best indicator that your baby is ready for solids. Please keep in mind that a growth spurt will occur between 3-4 months of age, 6-7 months of age and also 9-10 months of age. Baby may also be waking due to an illness or teething.

I know Many Babies Who Were Started on Solids "Early" Why Shouldn't My Baby?

Many parents say that their own pediatricians or their friends' pediatricians have said that it's fine to start solids (typically cereal) at 4 months of age. It is still common for pediatricians to just say "start solid foods when your baby is 4 months old" because this has been the norm for many years. You will find that the vast majority of pediatricians are not experts in pediatric nutrition and many are not aware of their own governing body's guidelines.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) acknowledges that there are no "strict" age guidelines on introducing solid foods to your baby. However, "The AAP Section on Breastfeeding, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Academy of Family Physicians, Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, World Health Organization, United Nations Children's Fund, and many other health organizations recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life.2,127–130 Exclusive breastfeeding is defined as an infant's consumption of human milk with no supplementation of any type (no water, no juice, no nonhuman milk, and no foods) except for vitamins, minerals, and medications.131 Exclusive breastfeeding has been shown to provide improved protection against many diseases and to increase the likelihood of continued breastfeeding for at least the first year of life. 2005
http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;
115/2/496

This ensures optimal nutritional exposure and may stave off food allergies amongst other issues. Further studies have shown that an infant's gastrointestinal tract has not or may not have matured enough to properly digest/utilize solid foods until around 6-8 months old. (See page end for reference links)

infor There is a "conflict" between the AAP Breastfeeding et al and the Committee on Nutrition as regards starting solids. The Committee on Nutrition says babies may be started on solid foods "between 4 and 6 months" of age. The Committee does not recommend 4 months of age as the absolute starting age however. "At approximately four-to-six months, you can begin adding solid foods. "Most babies are not ready for solids before this time, as they have not lost their tongue-thrust reflex at that age," Dr. Greer says. Dr. Greer is with the Committee on Nutrition.

Studies show that babies are highly individual in developing a readiness for solid foods. One baby might seem to be ready for solids at 4 months, while another shows no signs of readiness until around 6 or 7 months. Just because your friend's baby may have began eating solid foods at 4 months of age does not mean that your baby should.

Don't be pushed into starting solids and don't feel like you are a "bad Mommy" if you feel your baby is ready prior to 6 months of age.

**Please keep in mind that "outward" signs of being ready for solids do not mean that your baby's inner digestive system is mature and ready. You should thoroughly discuss starting your baby on solid foods with your baby's pediatrician.

If your pediatrician insists that you start your 4 month old infant on solids and you don't feel baby is ready, ask the pediatriician to explain the benefits of starting solids early. You might be surprised to hear the answer is not based on nutritional science or current recommendations.

And remember, you never HAVE to begin introducing complementary foods simply because your pediatrician has suggested that you do so. Only when you have thoroughly discussed the pros and cons of introducing solid foods with your pediatrician will you be able to have a better grasp of just when you should begin offering baby solid foods.

Won't My Baby Sleep Through the Night If We Start Solids?

Some parents believe that if they start solids "early" then their infants will sleep through the night sooner. As your baby grows, his sleeping patterns as well as eating patterns change continually.

Around the time a few parents begin to offer solids early is just about the time that an infant may be sleeping for longer periods at a time. This is a natural progression as an infant ages and it oftentimes coincides with the addition of early solids. This coincidence perpetuates the dangerous myth that early offerings of solid foods will help an infant sleep "through the night".

To further this explanation, let us recall that between 6-8 months old, baby is often back to waking at night for a feeding. By this time baby should be eating solids and it appears that those solids are no longer helping baby sleep through the night. In reality, baby is hitting another growth spurt and may wake again during the night for more feedings regardless of eating solids. This really is "normal" and your baby may wake again during the night for more feedings regardless of eating solids.

The best advice when considering starting solid foods for your baby, "Watch the Baby - Not the Calendar" This is true for both breastfed and formula fed infants. Follow your baby's hunger cues and you'll never go wrong.

My Parent's Insist That My Baby Needs "Real Food"

Some parents may be tempted to give in to relatives, grandmothers and sometimes even their own mothers, who say "Give that baby some real food, she's starving." or "Nursing that baby isn't enough, he needs some real food".

Remember that "real food" is breast milk and/or formula and these contain all the important nutrients that an infant needs to develop properly. Breast milk in particular, and/or formula, will be enough to sustain your baby's nutritional needs for up to age 1 year old. In fact, introducing solids too early may displace the important nutrition your baby needs to receive from breast milk and/or formula.
